Selling Sickness, 2013: People before Profits in Washington, DC was the 3rd in a series of breakthrough conferences focusing on disease-mongering and the urgent need for active healthcare reform efforts. The first was in Newcastle, Australia in 2006 and the second in Amsterdam, The Netherlands in 2010. The Washington conference brought together medical reformers, consumer activists, whistleblowers, academics and health journalists to meet each other, examine the landscape of disease mongering and develop strategies for action.
Relationships across disciplines that emerged from the conference inaugurated A NEW PARTNERSHIP MOVEMENT OF PROFESSIONALS AND ADVOCATES FOR HEALTHCARE REFORM.
